Guess? “G” vs. Gucci “G”

In 2009, Gucci filed a complaint against Guess? for replicating their signature “G” on purses, belts, shoes, wallets, and many other items. The complaint encompassed three of Gucci’s signature G’s – “Square G,” “Quattro G,” “Script Gucci,” and the “GRG Stripe.” On Tuesday, Manhattan, U.S. District Judge Shira Scheindlin decided in favor of Guess?, dismissing the claims Gucci brought against the company for the “Square G” and “Quattro G.” The fate of the whether Guess? knocked off the “Script Gucci” and “GRG Stripe” of the designer “G” is in the hands of the jury now! Pending Gucci’s win, they are asking for $26 million in damages for the infringement!
