Apple Adds 24 More Innovative Patents To Its Collection

Today, Apple was officially granted 24 new patents by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The biggest win for Apple out of these 24 patents is the Multi-Touch Patent. Since I’m not extremely knowledgeable in the specifics of the technology world below is a quote of what this newly revised Multi-Touch Patent does:

“1) calculating the coordinates of each touch region comprises calculating a centroid of each touch region with the raw data associated with each touch region; 2) the processor calculates the boundaries using a watershed algorithm and 3) reducing the noise in raw data.”

For everyone else who is baffled by what the three point stated above mean in the minds of brilliant Apple employees – Steven Hotelling, Joshua Strickon and Brian Huppi, who were credited as inventors of this patent here’s a picture explanation.
